MEGALITHS OF SINDH, PAKISTAN
(The photographs and information have been provided to us by Mr. Zulfiqar Ali Kalhoro of Pakistan. We at MEGALITHS OF INDIA are deeply indebted to him)
That the entire subcontinent was once a treasure house of prehistoric megaliths can be substantiated not only by the countless megalithic sites of India but even those of Pakistan as below:
Mr.Kalhoro is an anthropologist and is also involved in the research of megaliths in the Sindh region. His finds contain unique megalithic architectures.
The menhir below reveals cupmarks and enigmatic designs of which a few could be the handiwork of later day children as well
A BEAUTIFUL SOLITARY MENHIR WITH PETROGLYPHS. |

Below is a pic of another stunning architecture of a stone circle created with slabs of stone:
Megalithsim is quite alive and kicking among the tribals of Sindh. The pics below, were created only a couple of years ago as a wedding ritual.
THE AESTHETICS OF THE STONE CIRCLE ABOVE IS FASCINATING. NOTE HOW THE MONUMENT IS POSITIONED IN ORIENTATION TOWARDS THE SLICE OF ONE HILL IN THE HORIZON BETWEEN THE TWO OHTER HILLS. |
ANOTHER OF SIND'S UNIQUE STONE CIRCLE: EACH HAS A HEAP OF STONES; PERHAPS ALL THESE ARE BURIALS |
